It was okay I guess.
Missed assembly which I will probably get killed for. First lesson - RE - was boring really. And I barely got any work done cause the teacher wouldn't shut up about irrelevant shit. Break time was okay. Good to see everyone again. Not so good to freeze outside. Had to find my English teacher and give her my excuse for not giving in my essay. She was cool with it. I'm still doing it now...
English was meh. Free was good I suppose.
Started my English homework - create a dictionary of Americanisms - in my favourite way: via Youtube/Charlieissocoollike. I now have the majority of my homework done thanks to this video:
So yeah. That was alright. Lunch was good.
Went to music, watched some TOBUSCUS with the year 10s, then we all nicked L's guitar and messed around for a bit. Ladybird arrived - so damn good to see him! Felt a bit better when he arrived. Found some fluffy halos so fluffy halo attacked everyone XD Chatted and whatnot for a while. Got kicked out of music. Went to the library. Had more fun times. Ladybird typically messed with my glasses - he put them on me, upside down. Reminds me of one of our first photos together, when we had an OMG UPSIDE DOWN GLASSES MOMENT. Timmy stared at my boobs because I told him he didn't have big enough boobs to fill my waistcoat shape. Got told Timmy has bigger boobs than me.... *Doubts* He may be tubby, but he is probably an A/B, and I am .... well ... skinnier but bigger. So that was odd.Felt warm and kinda content thanks to my happiness bubble XD Really going to need that lot now... Life = tough. So yeah. Lunch ended. Got bored. Went to help out in Year 10 RE lesson as usual. Bit of a waste of time really. I didn't get to help out and ended up having to watch a horrific video titled 'If Slaughterhouses had Glass Walls.' It was horrific. I felt sickened to my core. Not sure if I'm going to be able to eat meat from now on. I couldn't help thinking about what if things were different, and we weren't the superior race on the planet but were tortured and slaughtered for meat. It didn't help that I could see Ladybird a few seats away. I was on the verge of throwing up when I had to fight off the visions of Ladybird and other friends and family being treated as these pigs, cows, chickens, etc were. And that was before the pigs started screaming. It was so... human. My hands started shaking then. I'm now afraid to sleep because I know that my dreams will be haunted by clips from the video and visions of my loved ones in place of the pigs. And those screams. I can't face that. I don't think I will be sleeping tonight. Eventually the video ended, and I forced myself to calm and not throw up. Left the lesson at the end and got lectured by Ladybird about steaks. Cause I never eat them. And apparently that is a travesty. Surprisingly, he cheered me up.
Erm... This is the video. It's very graphic, very horrifying, and I would advise you not to watch it. I thought I was pretty hardened against this kind of stuff, and that I had a strong stomach. I was wrong. But, if you think you can take it, watch it. It gives an important message.
Hope you are alright if you watched it. Told you it was bad.
Last lesson.
Got some mini training about using special microphones to help Zilla hear me and Nerd in lessons and such. That was rather interesting.
Went home. Went miserable. Went to Twin's. Had epic times XD t'was good. It just means I'm behind on work again... *Sigh*
Back to the now.
I'm stuck on the essay that I was supposed to email to my teacher several hours ago. Listening to this song:
Good times. Blaming the Ladybird and Mad/Little Harry for getting me into The Who...

Honey, I'm home!
Yeah. Finally home, and just eaten a lovely spaghetti carbonara. Om nom nom.
I now have to write a horrible english language essay for 1st thing tomorrow... Joy Unbounded.
I also have shitloads of photography to do, but I have lost my camera. Fuck.
Think I'd better send thanks to the brilliant highway maintenance people who cleared a fallen lamp post out of the road very smoothly. Dad and I were about 20 minutes behind the incident... I didn't exactly feel very safe after that. Hope you are all safe and well.
Please comment with any topics you want me to discuss on the blog sometime... I'm running out of ideas and talking about my life isn't very interesting.
Let me know!

News...
Just googled BBC News as an attempt to find something interesting to talk about. Nada.
Wonder how that will go. I hope it does help. Though politicians seem pretty useless lately.
A letter signed by leading health bodies and charities urges politicians to transform England's 'failing' social care system.
Let's just hope they listen this time. It really does need a big transformation. I don't really have personal experience of the social care system, but I'm told it's pretty shite. There is so much more that needs doing for the people that need help. It's always horrible when you hear stories of children dying because the social services let them down... Makes you want to pick up whoever can do something about it and shove their face at the television. Do they see what happens? Or is it same old same old just trying to work, but not trying to better the world. Not reaching full potentials. I believe that if people just pushed to reach their full potential, there would be a lot more good in the world. But that's me. And I'm just a naive 16 year old living in a small village just off a small town. What do I know of the big bad world, hey?
I know it's full of bullshit. And beauty. But all the good seems to be overwhelmed by bullshit.
There has been a "seismic collapse" in private sector pensions, with nine out of 10 defined benefit schemes closed to new entrants, a report warns.
Fun times. We'll all die cold then shall we?
Severe weather warnings across the Uk... Huh. Well I did not notice that. Perhaps because I am snuggled in bed in the music studio at my Dad's with the curtains drawn. Possibly. Stay safe people!!! Looks like 2012 is arriving quite fiercely. Hope the whole year isn't like this... O.o
Another student was murdered. On boxing day. He was visiting some friends in Manchester and was shot in the head as he walked down a street. Someone who calls himself a psycho is being questioned in court.
I'm sure you would have to be a psycho to do something like that. I will never understand how people can even imagine doing horrific things to another human.
Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.
On a happier note:
Congrats to Aretha Franklin, who is to marry XD Some hope for 2012 then.
So there is good. See, somewhere behind all the bullshit we are doing to each other, someone has found love, and is committing to it. Maybe one day it will be the love, not hate, that will shine through and be the thought of the World. I hope so.
People are better together. When we unite, and work for something better, we achieve so much more than we could alone.
In March 2011, I arranged a party that raised £200 for comic relief... But there's no way I could have done that alone. Together, my friends and I raised money that is being used to save people's lives, and to give people new hope. Together, we did something great.
It's the same in most contexts really. We are better, together. There is always someone, somewhere, who will hold on to you tightly when you feel like you are breaking. There is someone who will care about what you have to say and how you feel.
When I felt empty, someone rescued me from my fall. They didn't have to. They didn't really know me. But they... well they saved my life. I don't think they know that, but it's true. Alone, I was crumbling, but with their help, I am slowly standing tall again. At the beginning of November, I thanked my rescuer and now friend, for caring. All he said was: "If I don't care, who will?" And now I live by that. If I don't care, how can I expect anyone else to? I make sure I care as much as I humanly can, because what if someone else needs rescuing one day, and I'm the only one there... I can't leave it to someone else. Because if I don't care, who will?
Try and be there for someone to hold on to this year. Because if you don't care, who will?
Love,
Hatter

Friends
Morning y'all.
Fell asleep thinking about my friends last night so I thought I'd blog about the matter...
I love my friends. Some of them. Most of the time. Some of my friends dislike me a bit now. Because I have other friends, and so am not always with the gang.
I do love the gang though. It's just so big, and I still don't quite slot in anywhere. I'm always on the edge of the group - metaphorically and literally - weaving in and out of our masses, hugging someone every now and then or even participating in a short conversation. But - and this is a massive change for me - I don't feel the need to talk any more. I am happy just to sit with my friends, enjoying a comfortable silence only filled by occasional remarks or humorous comments. I don't need to say anything. But everyone else at the bench seems to find that uncomfortable, and fills everything with chatter, and because there are so many people it all has to be so much louder just so they can be heard.
I just don't feel right there any more. If the friendship group is like a jigsaw puzzle, I'm like the piece that you just can't seem to fit in anywhere. Everyone tells me that I do belong and I'm not on the edge, but that's not how I feel.
My normal way of dealing with my empty non-fitting feeling was to go for a walk - sometimes accompanied by Gloves or another comfortable friend (someone who didn't mind the silence, or the walk, or me just thinking and occasionally even thinking out loud). But that changed a few days into Year 12.
In August (as you will find out) at SS I met Ladybird and Unicorn, and a few days into year 12 Gloves and I were talking to them on one of our walks and we met Lion. Since the first days I've been growing steadily closer to the Young Ones (as I call them) and they really do mean a lot to me. I doubt I'd be here if not for one of them, and they have become something like a happiness bubble to me. When they are near I can't help smiling. And I fit. We all love each other quite deeply, and I know where I am with them. I know I fit, despite the 2 year age gap.
So now, whenever I feel crap (most days, unfortunately), I spent lunchtime in the music room with Ladybird, and sometimes the Lion, Unicorn, Nephew, Stupidly-Tall Year 10, and Mad Harry. And it's brilliant. We have lots of laughs and sit around jamming and whatnot. And against all the odds I don't feel out of place.
Unfortunately, my closeness to the year 10s hasn't gone down well with everyone. Some of the Bench Gang seem to think I am replacing them with the young ones, but I'm honestly not. I'm just finding my other place. I love the bench gang, but sometimes - for certain reasons - it's too painful or whatnot for me to stay there. So I seek sanctuary where I can find it - most often with the year 10s. I'm sorry if that offends anybody, but that's the way it is and it won't change.
I don't love any of my friends any less, I just need this bit of space, and the change of scenery. I'm only with the young ones for less than an hour at lunchtime. I spend the other 7 hours with the bench gang. Really, it's no big deal.
I guess it's also because I have changed a bit over the holidays, and some people don't like it. Well, to be honest all I can really say is that you don't go through and (luckily) get rescued from suicidal depression and just return to same old you. You inevitably change somehow, and I did. I'm sorry if it bothers people, but I need a chance to figure myself out.
Sorry for the rant. I've just been hearing people complain about me drifting away and it's starting to get on my nerves. Apologies.
I shall post again later, m'dears.

SEE
I am keeping up my new years resolution. Have ANOTHER post.
It is now 1:34am and I have been sat teaching Dad some decent songs - Hurt (Johnny Cash) and I'm Yours (Jason Mraz). Good times, although I got tired of Dad trying to figure I'm Yours out and jibber jabbering at me for ages about something or other. He only got it about 15 minutes ago, and having youtubed some other songs, I am now off to bed.
Because he is the most adorkable person ever, I'm gunna let Joe Brooks sing me to sleep:

P.s. See. Told you he was adorkably gorgeous.

Hello again.
I forgot to say Happy New Year.... shows what a depressing git I am lately, doesn't it? Still not as bad as I have been though. You missed all that you lucky bitches XD Hope 2012 is brilliant for y'all, and here is my resolution:
Do better, more frequent blog posts for the poor dears who actually bother to read this rubbish XD
Love y'all dearly.
Nanight.

P.s.
Just discovered one of my closest friend is unhappy with me... Subtle reference in her blog said buckets... Hm. I'd say I'll change my ways but I doubt I'll be able to. Instead, I hope I manage to stop disappointing her despite my continuing irritating behaviour.
And it will continue. Sorry, my lovely, but I can't change it. If I could, I would. Just for you. But I can't. Sorry. Forgive me if you want to x

Nothing.
Still working on that catch-up post, but slightly bored of living in the past. Plus it's going to take forever.
Latest news...
Christmas was good. Got stuck at home cause the car died - no longer an unusual phenomenon; it was the key this time - but still, Christmas at home with mum was lovely. I stayed at the Twin's over night til the 24th. That was nice too.
I got some brilliant presents - 2 guitars (myself and father); homemade journals, a snood, a CD, Sherlock: Series One DVD, alarm clock, chocolates, make-up, and more from mother dear (who had promised not to buy me anything -.-); handbag, ladybird gloves, 'dainty mermaid' ring (inside joke - do ignore), and a ring with lots of little bells on which is jingling as I type from Gloves; a beautiful locket from my dear Zilla; speakers from The Ladybird (Whom you will encounter when and if I ever bother to post the massive update/catch-up I'm writing); photo-album and earrings from The Unicorn (Again, see catch-up eventually); and a butterfly ring and galaxy cookie crumble from The Lion (same again); and so much more from the lovely people I fill my life with. Much thanks and love to all.
Boxing day...
is a blur. As is pretty much everything until New Years eve eve.
Although I went to the gym on a free thing for a few days. That was good. Tiring and ache-inducing, but good. The instructor said I was really good at the rowing machine. I didn't get to go on it very much. I think that my best was the equivalent 1000m in 5 minutes and 20 seconds. Apparently rather good for a beginner. *Feels slightly proud*
On New Years Eve Eve I met up with a few of the gang. That was fun. Although the gender ratio was crap. Nerd may as well have been a girl anyway, given he is Zilla's and as unattractive as a girl to me. (No offence to girls. I am simply not attracted to our gender. No offence to Nerd either. Just very much not my type.). So yes. T'was me, Sophie, Kit-Kat, Zilla and Nerd present. It was good. Nice to catch up with everyone. Didn't really enjoy talking about the non-present people. Felt bitchy and I wasn't comfortable with it. Luckily, Sophie's hot Russian guy idea kept my mind busy when I wanted it to. Grateful for that. Went to the gym afterwards to burn off the pizza.
New Years Eve.
Packing most of the day. Fairly boring. Packed for the night, and then my visit to Dad's. Listened to music on my speakers and fiddled on my new electric as it was quieter than the electro-acoustic and therefore mother dear wasn't able to tell me off for getting off task. I revised for a while too. *Shudders*. Dreading the psychology exam on the 17th now. Almost wish The Ladybird hadn't hooked me out of depression. I'd be ...elsewhere by now if not for him. And rather incapable of attending exams. But lets not talk about that. You can find out more in the catch-up blog. Left for MK around 4pm. Car started making a funny noise when we got to Hunsbury. Mum got worried and found the Cavalry (Glen, the previous owner of the car and one of mum's old college friends. We were to see him later as we usually did with the rest of her gang at Auntie Becs' house.). The Cavalry arrived in the shape of Glen and Tom 10 minutes after I finished my Costa Hot Chocolate. The decided the car was safe to drive and we continued on our journey, escorted by the cavalry. Arrived safe and well though uneasy as the car continued to make an odd noise. Greeted the gang - my 'family' as I think of them. Not as many smoking this year so the air was more breathable. Good times chatting to everyone - I do love and trust them so much more than anyone else. I grew up with them, and I have always known I can trust them with everything. That makes it a lot easier to talk to people. Dinner was delicious - thank you Alistair + helpers. Hilarious party games ensued - scissors game, chocolate game and pass the parcel. Strangely brilliant despite everyone being over 30 years older than me. The New Year arrived and we saluted it's coming with champagne and a terrible rendition of Old Lang Syne. I say terrible because despite Alistair being Scottish, absolutely no-one knew the words XD
Everyone went to bed sometime after 1am. I slept on two armchairs and a foot stool - surprisingly comfy, although our dog slept on the end of my sleeping bag on that arm chair and so I had to yank the sleeping bag from underneath her and sleep with my feet up on the chair's arm.
New Years Day.
Awoke before my alarm. Stayed in bed until well after. Got up and dressed and headed to the kitchen for a feast of breakfast. 2 croissants and a sausage = Om nom nom. It was quite filling, but the journey to Dad's takes 4 hours, so I was stocking up. Chatted with the gang, played guitar and left. Waited around for Dad for ages. Gave up twice. He called and said 10 minutes, and arrived as 10 turned into 30. Said goodbye to mum :( and packed my stuff up in the car, taking a deep breath of fresh air to ready myself for what was sure to be a torturous long journey sat in a stuffy camper van sat next to my 7 1/2 year old sister and with nothing to do but dream of home and friends. Stopped for a pizza express meal - Yum. Got to Dad's 7 hours after leaving home. Helped Imogen with her puzzle. Participated in 'family mush' as I call it. I.e. sitting around pretending to enjoy the puzzle, mindless chatter, and general silently-forced participation activities. Eventually everyone but Dad went to bed and I was free to play guitar in relative peace. Went to bed at 00.30. Stayed up watching The Mighty Boosh: Future Sailors Tour on Youtube for ages and finally went to sleep before 2am.
Woke up today at 10.3oam. Sat revising and listening to music. Showered and went down for a cooked lunch of pasta. More family mush. Even more torturous today. Caught up with the first episode of BBC's Sherlock series two, and began this blog post. Cracked a cypher - here. Have a go: http://www.thescienceofdeduction.co.uk/hidden-messages/hiddenmessage3
Now sat at the table writing this blog while my Dad plays his guitar - irritatingly I might add. I was forced to endure incredibly boring country music earlier (and this is me, who doesn't mind country music), and Ladybird had to help rescue me with some song suggestions that I could blast out of the laptop as an attempt to drown it out; and now I'm forced to listen to whatever the heck Dad is doing to that guitar.
Finally the torture seems to be over.
Missing home.
A lot.
Not sure what to do about it. Not enough distractions here. Only reminders of the fact that I am here, not there.
Trying to think of something enjoyable to do.
Oh dear.
Dad has decided to do 20 minutes more of guitar and then go to bed. Balderdash.
I'm off. I may try and teach him some songs that I like on guitar...
Hope life is good and fun my lovelies.
I'm being deprived of news of the outside world, so do let me know what is going on out there if you can.
Much love
Hatter.

Much love
Hatter.
xx
